What has contributed to your growth as an artist?
My growth as an artist has been accomplished by a blend of hard, consistent work, patience, never ending dedication and a realization that it takes time. Learning core elements (form, perspective, value, shape, colour theory, line) are a must as is observation of the world around us. Once I defined success on my terms, I was able to set my goals, kick my motivation into high gear and really grow. Putting my work out there has been essential to this process.
What was the inspiration behind this work?
I love to travel, and I love observing people. Big cities offer one a glimpse into such diverse parts of our lives such as culture, arts and food. The hustle and bustle, constant activity, incredible sky lines and unmatched energy is such a magnet to me. This scene from New York captured everything for me and inspired a memorable painting. Engaging with my audience during these moments provides significant professional fulfillment and serves as a source of motivation.

If you could buy an artwork by another artist, which one would it be and why?
I would love to own Vincent Van Gogh’s “The Stary Night”. To me it brings back memories from a turbulent childhood, and a feeling of connection to life’s journeys. The emotional power of this piece is undescribable.
What are your plans for the future?
As an artist, my future plans center on continual growth, since evolving is vital to the artistic journey. Moving out of my comfort zone to find inspiration is a goal I have in mind. I also have a number of series of works floating around in my thoughts and intend to bring them into being in the next few years
