Please tell us about your journey as an artist.
Although I have been creative all my life, I only seriously took up art five years ago.
My love for nature and flowers has been with me since childhood and I have also studied natural sciences and landscape architecture. It was during my studies and later, while working as a landscape architect, that I fell in love with drawing, depicting natural objects and gardens.
After a very long break, I resumed drawing and later painting in 2020. I have attended several courses and workshops to understand in which direction I want to develop myself and what best suits my nature. I am currently in the phase of painting flowers and nature aesthetics.

What is your medium and why did you choose it?
My favorite technique has always been drawing with pencil. I still draw animal portraits, supplementing my drawing with panpastels.
I am amazed by the variety of techniques and textures in acrylic painting. It is a technique where each painting is like a journey into the unknown, where you can discover endless surprises.
Currently I paint exclusively with oils. This technique is very meditative and requires a high level of concentration and peace of mind.
What was the inspiration behind this work?
As a landscape architect, my passions are garden and flowers. The red tulips depicted in the painting "Flamenco" grew in my garden.
I was fascinated by the fiery color of these flowers, the symbolism of energy, passion and love associated with this color. That's how the title of this painting came about, because, in my opinion, flamenco dance encompasses all these symbols.
If you could buy an artwork by another artist, which one would it be and why?
I can't name one specific artist because I am influenced by a whole era, namely the still life paintings of the Dutch Renaissance artists.
I am fascinated by how these artists depict flowers and other objects down to the smallest detail, achieving the illusion of reality.
